JUROR: Jill Sarver Rossi received her M.F.A. in Painting from Western Connecticut State University, M.A. in Painting and Drawing from Eastern Illinois University, and B.F.A in Painting. She is faculty with Rome Art Program, a New York-based educational organization in Rome, Italy. She has curated independent exhibitions and taught art education throughout the Midwest and New York metro area. Jill was Visual Arts Manager at the Westport Arts Center, Westport, CT and is Curator and Project Manager with Cynthia Byrnes Contemporary Art, Westport, CT. Her own work investigates memory and observation of ancient Egyptian and Roman figures and artifacts. She uses shifts in tonality and light to explore the duality between solidity and air, linking present and past. Her recent series, "Anonymous," has been shown in Connecticut and New York City, and is in private collections throughout the U’S

ACCEPTED MEDIA: The exhibition will include original work in any media, 2-D or 3-D (including crafts) completed since January 2017. No giclées. Work may not exceed 15” in any direction (if 2-D, that includes frame; if 3-D, that includes the base).

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all artists 18 years and older. Artists may submit a maximum of 5 entries. Work exhibited in prior MAG Small Works exhibitions is not eligible.

ENTRY FEE: The entry fee is $50 for up to 4 entries. Payment is due upon submission. Payment does NOT guarantee acceptance by the juror.

ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS: All images must be submitted as jpg files at 150dpi resolution, 1200 pixels in the longest dimension, and a file size of 1MB or less. Jpg files must be named as follows:  lastname_title_size.jpg.  

All required information on the entry form must be completed. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. Entry fees are not refundable, and all deadlines are final. By entering, you agree to abide by all the rules and terms of the exhibition.

NOTIFICATION: Notification of accepted works will be via email on April 22, 2020.

PRIZES: Cash prizes will be awarded by the Juror. 

DELIVERY: Shipped work must arrive at the Mamaroneck Artists Guild Gallery, 126 Larchmont Avenue, Larchmont, NY 10538 by Friday, May 1st, 2020. All shipped work must be have a prepaid return-shipping label, be trackable, and include appropriate packaging for return of artwork (no styrofoam peanuts). All work must be finished and completely dry. 2-D work must be suitably framed and wired for hanging (no saw-tooth or clip hangers). Receiving of hand delivered work will be on Tuesday, May 5, 12-7 pm. Work must remain on exhibition for the duration of the exhibition.

REMOVAL: All artwork must be removed on Saturday, May 30th or Tuesday, June 2, 1-5 pm. If not removed, there will be a $35 administrative charge and storage charge of $5 per day. After 30 days, the art, including all rights, title and interest of the artist in and to the work, will become the property of MAG.

SALES: All work must be for sale. A commission of 40% will be charged on all sales. Price may not be changed from price listed on entry form.

LIABILITY & INSURANCE: Entries will be handled with all possible care. MAG its officers and agents will not be responsible for any loss or damage. MAG does not insure entries and exhibits. Works will be handled and exhibited at the artist's own risk.
