ITEM 1 – GENERAL PROSPECTUS INFO:

The Mamaroneck Artists Guild announces the 18th Annual Open Juried Small Works Exhibition for 2023 

EXHIBITION DATES: March 28 - April 22, 2023 

SUBMISSION OPEN: February 12 - March 3, 2023 

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES: March 3, 2023 

NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE: March 9, 2023 by email 

Open to all artists 18 years and older, the exhibition will include work in any media or 3D completed since January 2020. Artists may submit a maximum of 3 entries.  Size of all work may not exceed 15” in any direction (For 2D work that includes frame. If 3D, includes the base. 

The entry fee is non-member: $50 (1-3 entries); members: $40 (1-3 entries). Payment is due upon submission. Payment does NOT guarantee acceptance by the juror. The juror will award cash prizes. 

JUROR Randy Williams is an active visual artist and educator developing new methods of presenting the visual arts in Colleges, Universities, Schools, and Museums. A Professor of Studio and Art Education at Manhattanville College, Randy Williams was also an instructor and educational consultant to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for 50 years. He was the Artistic Director of the New York State Summer School of the Visual Arts from 1992-2016; he was a master teacher in the program for thirty-nine years.

He has been awarded a Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts to the American Academy in Rome. Randy has been recognized by the NYS Council on the Arts, Visual Arts Division, and the New York Foundation of the Arts with a Fellowship in sculpture.

Recently his work has been exhibited in two major exhibitions “Soul of a Nation: Art in the age of Black Power” organized by the Tate Modern, London, UK, and “Just Above Midtown: Changing Spaces” organized by the Museum of Modern Art, New York City, USA. He participated in more than forty national and international solo exhibitions, exhibited in over 100 group exhibitions. His artwork is in several private art collections.

SMALL WORKS SHOW LOCATION: The exhibit will be displayed at the gallery at 1987 Palmer Ave., Larchmont, NY as well as on our website. All accepted work will appear online at www.mamaroneckartistsguild.org

ACCEPTED MEDIA:  The exhibition will include original work in ANY MEDIA, 2D, 3D, and Fine Crafts completed after January 2021. Only original artwork will be accepted. No Giclees. Work in prior juried shows is not accepted. Work may not exceed 15” in any direction (if 2D that includes frame; if 3D that includes the base).

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all artists 18 years and older. Artists may submit a maximum of 5 entries.  Work exhibited in prior MAG Small Works exhibitions is not eligible.

FEES: The entry fee is $50 (1-3 entries); members: $40 (1-3 entries). Payment is due upon submission. Payment does NOT guarantee acceptance by the juror.

SUBMISSIONS: All images must be submitted as jpg files at 150dpi resolution, 1200 pixels in the longest dimension, and a file size of 1MB or less. Jpg files must be named as follows:  firstname_lastname_title_medium_size.jpg.

All required fields on entry form must be completed. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.  Entry fees are not refundable, and all deadlines are final. By entering, you agree to abide by all the rules and terms of the exhibition.

SALES: All work must be for sale. A commission of 40% will be charged on all sales. Price may not be changed from price listed on entry form. When the show ends, the exhibit will stay on the MAG website, in our past show category for 3 months. If any work sells, after the end of the show, the commission will remain the same.

SOLD WORK:

Any sold work will be the responsibility of the artists to deliver or cover the cost of shipping the work to the buyer. You can calculate the shipping at the time of sale or include it in your price.

RECEPTION:  Saturday, April 1, 2023, 3-5 pm

PRIZES:Cash prizes will be awarded by the Juror and announced at the reception
